Damascus MD Living

If you live, work and play in Montgomery County, yet enjoy a community that is a little more laid-back, Damascus is worth checking out. With a population of just over 15,000, and surrounding neighborhoods of larger lot size, the area attracts those looking for country living with the convenience of nearby city amenities of southern Montgomery County and Washington D.C.

At the northern end of the county, Damascus is an easy commute to not only southern Montgomery County, but also Frederick, Howard, and Carroll Counties. The major routes in and out of Damascus are Rt. 27, or Ridge Road; Rt. 108, or Damascus Road; and Rt. 124, or Woodfield Road. I-70 is a quick five miles north at the southern border of Mt. Airy Maryland.
